Also known as "Spikenard," Aralia comes in many forms — from short leafy herbaceous plants, to small shrubs, to large trees. Nearly 70 distinct species make up this genus, with numerous varieties available as indoor tropical plants. Indoor Aralias are typically shrubby or tree-like in form, adding height and texture variations to any planting area. They also make grand potted plants.
Aralias grow well in medium light, although most can tolerate full sunlight. These plants adapt to normal indoor humidity ranges, as long as air isn't overly dry. Aralias benefit from slightly higher humidity levels that tend to surround large plant displays.
